Scams - What not to do
Scams... They are all out there. So many scams out in
the world. Not just on the internet, which
makes things worse because we are living in
a technologically digital world. Where you
can pretty much find out anything on everyone,
if you know exactly where to look. The problem
today with some scams, are that they actual do
ruin the status of the victim that has been
scammed. Have you been scammed? I know I have.
Many times. Yeah.. I was stupid. I actually
fell for the Nigerian scam. I actually thought
that this guy wanted to send me checks to cash,
for him, because he had no way of cashing
USA checks from the UK. I cashed it, and guess
what? It was a fraudulent check. The worst part
is, I took the heat and not the bank teller! She
was supposed to deposit the check, because it was
out of state, all because I knew her in high
school, that was over 12 years ago! The bottom line with the Nigerian scam was that
they send you a check, you cash it, keep 7% for
your troubles of running around, and things, Then
you do an international wire transfer for the
remainder of the money. Guess what, I never heard
from him again, and 5 days later I get a phone call
about a check $1970 check that I just cashed, turned
out to be fraudulent, and are holding me responsible.
What about the bank teller? I feel she broke protocol. But that was a long time ago. I'm grateful for the
fact that I was able to pay it off before I had any
other problems. But back to the main topic in question.. If you find a business opportunity that you are going
to join. Be absolutely sure that it is legitimate.
There are MANY legitimate businesses out there. You
just have to pick and choose the ones that are
actually real. A lot of people believe that if you
have to pay for something first, then that means that
it's a complete scam. WRONG, the fact of the matter
is, is this: Do you think that a work from home
business is going to just fall out of the sky, that
promises to make you so much money, for nothing? The
problem with this is, you have to spend money, to
make money. If you don't spend money in your business
venture, you will never make money. Unless you plan
on promoting free affiliate businesses, then that
will be the only way for you to get anywhere completely
free. Unless you pay for advertising. There are so many scams out there. Not too long ago I
noticed a few shady characters in the area that were
looking to do people's driveway, re-surface and
re-blacktop their driveway. They ended up scamming
quite a few people, and the job was completely shoddy
to say the least, and the people were out over $4000! Do not, and I repeat DO NOT try a cash gifting
business. You will lose your money. Especially if you
come in at a certain level, and someone that you refer
wants to join, but joins at a higher level, guess what,
you lose that sale because you didn't join at the level
that they are paying for. It's a no win situation. I've
seen people that lost their jobs, and actually were on
their last limb to try and become rich from cash gifting
programs, ready to give their last dime. The fact of the
matter is, they will never see a dime. Conclusion: Just be careful, and evaluate the opportunity. Do
research, google is a great place to start. If you
find it on google, relating to a scam, chances are
it might be. Just use good judgement, and you will
protect yourself from scams!
